Ina Jean Henderson

Ina Jean Henderson, 77, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 surrounded by her family at Coastal Hospice by the Lake in Salisbury, Md.

Born on December 27, 1939 in Pound, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Amos (Dick) & Beulah Edwards.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Jean worked as a hair stylist and farmer before retiring to enjoy life as she pleased. She loved to laugh and enjoyed socializing with family and friends. She was known as Granny to not only her grandchildren and great grandchildren but to their friends as well. She liked to travel to the mountains of her youth and around the world with her granddaughter Melody.

She is survived by her husband, John H. Henderson, daughters; Debra Lynn Ellison of Pasadena, Md., Bonnie Jean (Harold) Bozman of Princess Anne, Md. and Pamela Sue Ellison of Delmar, De., stepdaughter Wanda (Bill) Barthel, four granddaughters; Melody, Malory, Kimberly and Kristy, 6 great grandchildren, siblings; Marlene Ray, Frank Edwards, Carol Pierce, Janice Pierce, Joyce Shinaberry, Steven Edwards, an Aunt, Vernell Wells, as well as loving family friends, Kenny Brinkmeyer and Sharon Daneman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bond J. Ellison and Maynard P. Knickman, brothers, Larry, John and Ray Edwards and stepson Bobby Knickman.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A., 11673 Somerset Ave., Princess Anne, Md. with a visitation one hour before the service. Pastor Rick Edmund will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be sent to a stroke association of their choice.
