Kenneth D. Nichols

Kenneth D. Nichols, 92 died on Sunday, October 18, 2015.
Born in Easton on October 22, 1922, he was a son of the late Charles Clifton Nichols and Carrie Larmore Nichols.  Mr. Nichols late wife was Edith Propst Nichols (2014).
Mr. Nichols retired after 24 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service.  Mr. Nichols was a lifelong member (1935) of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon where he was church organist for 40 years.  Mr. Nichols was a founding member of the Mt. Vernon Volunteer Fire Department and served as an EMT.  Mr. Nichols enjoyed gardening, bird watching, hunting and playing music and was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by four sons: Kenneth Jr. and his wife, Terri of Hebron; Gregory and his wife Cyndee of Delmar, Md; Michael and his wife Kim of Hebron; and Clifton (Kip) and his wife Karen of Annapolis; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and his dear sister Shirley Flanagan of Roanoke, Va; along with several nieces and nephews.  His late brothers were Charles Nichols and Douglas Nichols.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  The Rev. William Kniceley will officiate.  Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
