image0Shad Point- Elwood Louis Dise, Jr., departed this life January 1, 2010.  Born in Tangier, Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents Elwood L.  Dise of Tangier, Va. and Audrey Dise Stephens of Salisbury, Md.

 

He was a U.S. navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.  For several years he was a marine engineer for the former Fish Products Co. of Lewes, De.  He was later an associate of Speakman Co. of Salisbury and the General Plumbing Supply Co. of Millsboro, De.

 

He was a member of Wicomico Masonic Lodge No. 91.  He was a member  of the Eastern Sho Forest # 53 Tall Cedars of Lebanon where he was past Grand Tall Cedar.  He was past District Deputy of District # 13 of the TLC.  He also served as National Foundation Trustee.  He was a member of the Lower Delmarva Genealogical Society.  He contributed many hours to the youth of the area.  He was a former 4-H leader, girls’ softball coach, past president of the Parkside Band Parents Assoc. and had volunteered at facilities for mentally challenged youth.

 

He is survived by the following;  his wife of 55 years, the former Janet Brewington;  a son, Elwood III of Hanahan, S.C. and his fiancé Kalene McNeal;  a daughter, Crystal Bromley, her husband Thomas, two adored grandchildren, Matthew and Leighton Bromley, all of Salisbury;  a sister-in-law, Gail Simpkins of Mt. Vernon, Md. ;  a cousin, Mildred Evans of Ewell, Md.  and a long time friend and travel mate Irvin Brewington of Salisbury.

 

Services will be held Tuesday at 2pm at Washington United Methodist Church, Riverside Drive Ext. in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. A Masonic service will be held at the beginning of the funeral.    Revs. Carol Carlson and Benita Harris will be officiating.  Graveside military rites will be conducted at the Shad Point Cemetery, Riverside Drive Est. in Salisbury.
